Poetry & Art Topics
Just A Thought By Staff Writer Sharon Barrett
Luke 5:31-32
"Jesus answered them, "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance"

Jesus was often looked down upon for associating with what most considered the undesirable people. But it was these ones to whom Jesus came to minister, not those who were righteous in their own thoughts. If we are humble and accept teaching, we are the ones Jesus reaches out to.

Spirit Gardens,
poetry and art about the gardens of our souls where we meet and walk with the Lord.

Removing the Mask
by: Terry S. Krepps

Poet's Note: Hope you enjoy this. It was brought on through some pretty tough times that took place in my life just yesterday. The mask is my interpretation of unforgiveness and until that black veil is released we are bound by all that may seek us as its prey !

A lot of times in our lives we turn and backslide. We go against what it says not to do in Romans 12 verse 2.This scripture tells us not to conform as the world does but to renew our minds proving that it is good, acceptable and perfect before God.

Gossip is a viscous stronghold that tries to ruin many churches and bodies alike. When we fall to that of what the world would say we become as vulnerable as them. We put our whole church and God's word at jeopardy because our feelings were hurt or something didn't go to as we had planned or would have liked to have seen it go.

We all at times, have worn the mask of unforgiveness. To wear it for an excessive amount of time could not only damage you but those who surround you. Accepting you are wrong in front of many is very hard and with it could bring on many negative branches along with it. Knowing that forgiveness begins with God and not man is another plus that helps us clear that hurdle or obstacle. Knowing that God is willing to see me through what to some is unforgivable is overwhelming. Through it all we need to seek God and deny ourselves! I must decrease and He must increase, John 3 verse 30. I am so thankful that God is so forgiving and that my fate is not in the hands of those around me but at His feet!
God bless!! Brother Terry S. Krepps

Removing the Mask
by: Terry S. Krepps

With weakness beneath my smiles, tears can be found
Enclosed alone in a mask, fears remain sealed
Outward desires in love for others retract
Reaching for the moon, but end up seeing only stars

Moon beams sending forth a potential protection
Are intercepted by the force of inflicting pain
Looking deep within sensing something beneath
But illusioning the blade as it's drawn from its sheath

Wounds of disclosure weep forth impetuously in haste
Pride and security in ones self flows in earnest
What once was conceived has now been dispersed
Reaching to retrieve them they were lost in submission

Faltering to my knees I partake in lamentations
The outpouring of forgiveness flows in division
One wanting to exonerate the other to retreat
Fleshly combat takes a stronghold of my emotions

Tenderness is grilled while sensitivity is misplaced
Acceptance within the realms of blame intertwine
Wanting to die seeped through as a consideration
But the strengthening and the maturity of the Spirit now overcame

A new beginning has been initiated, with the past to be forgotten
Pressing on towards the high calling we direct our pathway
Lifting it up to our Savior with an allowance of passion to be amplified
With a beacon of light to lead the way

As for myself I bow down to decrease
As my Lord and Savior draws it unto His increase
For within the desire to conform with surrender
It is accepted at His feet

God reigns
By JoAnn Hankins

God reigns in the heavens
To His children benign.
The earth is His footstool
Situations are His design.
Afflictions are His tools
By them character He will produce.
Choose not to be a fool
Be an instrument for His use.

A Mini Prayer
By JoAnn Hankins

God bless our land,
And keep her in your hand.
God bless our president.
We know by whom he is sent.
God bless our leaders,
Both local and otherwise.
For they must give account
of our growth or our demise.

My Beautiful Lillies
By Judy Fune

Come to me my little buddies-
Flowers of beauty and purity
you are my destiny
You are what I'm here for
to let you wear OUT the cloth of impurities.
Come and let us live freely
Where in the Land of Trick
only The Father can wave his magical stick.
Oh let us cheer for HIM who gives all that we can live for to be happy

Oh dream a little dream.
Hold the sword that in you is given
wave it with all strength of power he has given
when troubles arise you'll know how to balance it wise
And only by Faith all knowing that life is power and life is him
all living in wonders shall never be forsaken and all...
all are true and forgiven.

Sweet garden of Eden
Come and let us dwell in the garden of his desire
Let us sing the Joy of his heart,
where our Land can be found at the palm of his hand
by the will of his command.
Just as you may see a clear reflection of you in rivers of beauty
sincerity is the grace that will shine clearly
Dwell in his very heart and believe in the Vision of Heart,

For life has no boundaries
when your kinds are found shimmering in the recreational river of life
Like white buds of roses cheerfully flowing life lilies
sparkling through the rain across the golden sand of ocean sea
There I will meet my beautiful flowers
My Beautiful lilies...

The Light Above
By Staff Writer Sharon Barrett

I walked on feet unsteady for a walk with the Lord,
but He opened his arms so I’d feel safe.
the walk was so slow and I was in the dark,
Jesus always there always present The Light Above
Guided foot prints though my life,
Gently calling me forth with words of love.
Using the good book to lead me away from strife,
Scriptures always present like the like The Light Above.
I grew strong I learned well,
Reliance on the good Teacher was my goal.
Never turning away, always keeping
my eyes on the ever lasting, The Light Above.
My reward has been great, live by the laws written down in the good book,
simple sweet words given with so much love.
Singing Psalms to brighten my day, until each one my heart took,
Listening to Proverbs using them as I was taught by The Light Above.

Children of My Heart
Written by: Phyllis Y. Coats

Children of my heart
The love I feel
For one and the other
I can not tell apart

A daughter came conceived among lies
While in a time filled with drugs and pain
Running, hiding and seeking to find a little love
Even to this day, for you my heart still cries

Christina Marie daughter of my heart
Born April 7th on a clear spring morn
Sweet child, always with a smile
To my grave you'll remain always in my heart

A son came born by another
In another dark time of my life
You were truly sent from God
Blessing me, allowing me to be your mother

Bobby son of my soul's deepest prayers
Born May 24 on a bright spring morn too
With you came much healing and growth
Teaching me finally that Jesus does care

Children of my heart
Both born of prayers
While seeking love and hope
Still you both continue to give your part

His Hands
By Dixie Albertson

Feeling as if no one understands,
Feeling like I'll never sing again!
I don't know how to pray,
& I don't know what to say,
But underneath me, Lord, are Your hands!

Hands to hold me up when I'm weak,
Hands to mold me as Your face I seek,
Hands to comfort me,
Hands to guide me,
Gentle Hands ~~ Tender Hands ~ that understand!

Once again You've lightened my heavy load!
Once again I know Someone knows.
How can it be?
Someone like YOU loves someone like me!
And underneath me, Lord, are Your hands!
