Just
a Thought...
By Staff Writer Sharon Barrett
"Live in such a way that you would
not be ashamed to sell your parrot to the
town gossip." - Will Rogers
Do you gossip? Do you tell others about
someone else's business? God does not
want us to gossip. We're to face one
another and discuss what has happened to
each other not to go around telling
everyone you see what has happened. When
you do this you are trying to get people
to side with you, but not only that you
are telling others to hate that person
and to love you. I have to admit
shamefully (shy smile and a frown) I have
fallen prey to this myself. But with the
grace of God I am working on it and God
is helping me to succeed. How about
asking God to help you if you have this
problem.

Lydias
Window By Yolanda
Magee
Hi, my name is Lydia and
I have traveled across the world but it is here that I
have settled down, in Manhattan, New York right in the
middle of everything. This is my world when I am far away
from the lands that I once knew. I no longer ride the
train or fly across the world. Because some years ago, I
was left crippled in a terrible accident and as a result
I lost both of my legs. I was devastated because there
was a stirring in my soul ever since I was a mere child
to travel the world giving and sharing the good news of
Jesus Christ. But all of a sudden it appeared that
perhaps that dream had all but died.
Now I would have to
become accustomed to a different life. There were not
many visitors in the months that followed and as time
went on there were even less until now no one hardly ever
comes, except for my nurse, Patria. So now its just
me and this house that my aunt had left me and so quite
naturally I chose to settle down here. This is my life,
this window, my only link to the outside world and
beyond.
I remember sitting in this window one day thinking about
my life and how things had changed so very much. When
like many other days I felt bound by my limitations, but
somehow this day was different from the rest. I felt an
urgent sense of expectation; As I peered from the window,
something in side of me began to challenge me to see
more, once again I peered out of the window looking from
one side and then the other, even straining myself at
times, but I saw nothing and so I sighed in desperation.
In the days that
followed, I would do the same each day I waited as I
believed God that he was faithful. Finally one day a man
came passing by he looked to be in his forties or so,
with salt and pepper colored hair, he had a distinctive
look about him; about that time he looked at me and I
looked back, soon he turned around to ask for directions,
and before long there we were having a cup of tea there
on the stoop.
I knew then that perhaps
I would never ride a train across the country again or
even go to foreign lands but it was here somehow this was
where my life's work would be carried out, my window
would be my world and all who traveled by they would find
a place to rest.
There are no limitations in Christ
Take a look at what is limiting you and press the limits!
Heart to Heart
Talks with God By Yolanda Magee
Lord, here am I before
you once again realizing that I am just a woman, flesh
and bones, but God you made me, from the bone of a man
and just as surely as I am here in this world I also know
that one day this old body will die and decay and to the
grave it will go but it is this spirit that will live on
in glory
Lord, while I am down here, I know that I must be all
that you created me to be and everything you have birth
in this womb from without as well as within I am
responsible for, so this day Lord, I vow that I will take
nothing with me to the grave, but I will lay up my
timbers in heaven everyday in prayer and thanksgiving
always, always
So many times before you Lord, I've kneeled down to pray
to search for answers to my weary soul, Knowing that you
knew my request before the first word was sown. Yet
somehow even then I still could not find the words to
tell you how I felt I could not find the breath or the
strength to release them and let it go and as I lie there
before you Lord, so very many thoughts would come to mind
and then in an instant they were once again gone, never
again to be called upon but somehow God, in the mist of
the silence you came, you answered without me ever
knowing.
