Just a Thought...
By Staff Writer Sharon Barrett
Romans 2:1
" You, therefore, have no excuse, you who pass judgment on someone else, for at whatever point you judge the other, you are condemning yourself, because you who pass judgment do the same things."

No excuse what-so-ever to pass judgment on another human being! In passing judgment on another you are condemning yourself to that same judgment. Leave the judging to the LORD! For the LORD knows all things about a person. Things we can not see, things we do not know. How terrible to judge a person wrongly and then have condemned yourself.

Christian Wisdom
Submitted by Crystal Owings

A family altar can alter a family.
Be Fishers of Men.... You catch 'em, He'll clean 'em.
A lot of kneeling will keep you in good standing.
Don't put a question mark where God put a period.
Don't wait for 6 strong men to take you to church.
Exercise daily. Walk with the Lord!
Forbidden fruits create many jams.
Give God what's right, not what's left!
Give Satan an inch and he'll be a ruler.
God doesn't call the qualified, He qualifies the called.
God grades on the cross, not the curve.
God loves everyone, but probably prefers "fruits of the spirit" over "religious nuts"!
God promises a safe landing, not a calm passage.
Having truth decay? Brush up on your Bible!
He who angers you, controls you!
He who is good at making excuses is seldom good for anything else.
He who kneels before God can stand before anyone!
Kindness is difficult to give away because it keeps coming back.
Most people want to serve God, but only in an advisory capacity.
Never give the devil a ride! He'll always want to drive!
Nothing ruins the truth like stretching it.
Plan ahead! It wasn't raining when Noah built the ark.
"Pray" is a four letter word that you can say anywhere.
Prayer: Don't give God instructions, just report for duty!
The Will of God will never take you to where the Grace of God will not protect you.
To be almost saved is to be totally lost.
Watch your step carefully! Everyone else does!
We don't change the message, the message changes us.
Just set the sail; God will make the wind.
We are too blessed to be depressed.
Wisdom has two parts: 1) Having a lot to say and 2) Not saying it.
Worry is the darkroom in which "negatives" are developed.
God, please fill my mouth with useful stuff and stop me when I've said enough.

Presidential Prayer Team

Not long ago I invited Handmaidens members to join the Presidential Prayer Team... Immediately I received notice that Snopes had a "hoax" page on the PPT... See it here

I checked it out, but so did Judy... and she did a great job of responding (see below) We both recommend you join!

Hi -
Just signed up for this group and the first thing I saw was the denouncement of the presidential prayer team.... I'm sorry, I don't see what the problem is. Yes, Snopes points out that some people have been misled to believe that the president started this. However, if you go to the homepage for the presidential prayer team, you will see very clearly in the left column that it is not a government agency of any kind.

From what I understand, our president, even though he had nothing to do with starting this effort, is still very glad the American people are praying for him and his cabinet and staff in an organized way, even if he is in no way involved in the creation or maintenance of this effort. I had heard about this from so many different sources that I knew already that it was a grass roots movement - so I hadn't read what Snopes had to say about it before.

As for the emblem being a bad copy of the presidential seal, there is also a disclaimer on the homepage about that. Snopes gave the facts, but failed to point out that the founders of the presidential prayer team were not trying to make it look like the president had started it - if people have gotten that impression, it's because they received false information from others or simply failed to read all the information on the ppt home page.

As a newbie, I'm not trying to cause trouble for your group - just wanted to make sure you weren't getting people to forgo praying for the president and his cabinet simply because he did not personally start this, which would be as bad as those who are passing on the original misinformation. Now more than ever, he and all his cabinet and staff need our prayers, no matter who started this grass roots movement.

When is A Woman a Woman?
By Staff Writer Sharon Barrett

Is it when she leaves the childish ways behinds, no longer playing with dolls, her toys all neatly packed away to pass on to her own children. And boys come into the picture of her life and she begins to date. Her days are filled with fancy dresses, or the best jeans money can buy. Proms and parties and lots of guys!

Maybe it is when she is no longer all teeth and legs. No longer clumsy, one foot falling over the other, but now an elegant beautiful creature so graceful she seems to glide across the floor, and her voice is no longer shrill, but soft and warm.

Or is it when the Scriptures teach us what is expected of a woman that makes a woman a woman. Scriptures tell women to be meek, mild, and humble, loving, kind, generous, no longer selfish, and after one's own desires in life.
