- Just
a Thought...
By Staff Writer Sharon Barrett
1 John 1:8 "If we claim to be
without sin, we deceive ourselves and the
truth is not in us."
Are you without sin? Are you perfect in
your own eyes? According to this
Scripture no one is perfect, but if we do
sin and we confess those sins the LORD
will be faithful and he will forgive us
our sins and purify us. What a wonderful
promise the LORD has given us! Wont' you
in true honesty to yourself confess your
sins to the LORD and be forgiven. The
promise is in the Scriptures, and we know
that the LORD cannot lie.

Dear Blabby blabby@handmaidens.org
Dear Blabby;
I recently sent an out of town friend a very nice
birthday gift yet have heard not one word of thanks from
her. I know she received it because another friend told
me. I can't believe she would be so crass as to fail to
send a thank you note! Should I write or call to ask her
how she liked it?
Generous in Georgia
Dear Generous;
Why did you give the gift in the first place.. because
you loved her and wanted to please her? Or were you
merely seeking to bolster your own worth in the eyes of
others? I know it would have been good to know she was
pleased by your gift, but its better to just take in the
joy of having given it and leave the rest alone.

Dear Blabby;
Our pastor's wife, who is grossly overweight, wears
bright and gaudy clothes, very flamboyant. Frankly, she's
an embarrassment to the church. We love our pastor. How
can we tactfully tell his wife to dress more
conservatively?
Concerned in Coalinga
Dear Concerned;
Wow! A fat lady in hot pink? No wonder you're
"Concerned!" You love your pastor but are not
so forgiving of the woman he loves... Hmmm. So long as
he's happy and she's covered, what does it matter if
she's wrapped in mauve or chartreuse? Would you find her
fashion choices more acceptable if she were thin?
Actually, I think I could really like her! And I KNOW God
LOVES her... think about it!

Dear Blabby;
I work with a lovely lady who doesn't know the Lord. Even
so, she lives a high moral standard and is so warm and
generous, seeming to love people genuinely. Indeed, her
life seems so complete that I don't know how to share
Christ with her even though I dearly long to do so. Any
advice?
Would-Be Evangelist
Dear Would-Be;
No matter how perfect your friend may seem or how ideal
her life may appear, the blunt truth is that without
Christ, she ain't gonna make it to heaven, and I
guarantee she's got an empty spot in her heart. The easy
way to share Christ with anyone is to simply tell them
what He's done for you. Forget planning out some big
speech, just tell this dear one you are about her and
it's important to you that she know about Jesus... The
Holy Spirit will lead you to the right words.

Hello,
The text of an article titled "America: The Good
Neighbor" has been circulating around. I found it
very interesting, but wanted to investigate it before
forwarding it. I have found it in a radio archive. As I
suspected, it had been changed (as most forwards always
are) but the majority of it was intact, just not the
title. By going to http://www.cfrb.com/archives/american.html you can see this wonderful
commentary about the United States. It's well worth the
time to read.
I hope you enjoy it.

I happened here by
"accident" or "divine design" today,
looking for an egroup for my daughter, and kind of
interested in finding one for me, since she has shared
her excitement in egroups in the past.
I read Jerri Phillips article, "Glad to Know
You" and it was not only a great article, but
EXACTLY what my daughter needed to hear today. She is
frustrated with her egroup's mentality in just this
area...friendships with others and wanting to be closer
to the Lord, as well.
I have enjoyed my visit here today and sent my daughter
the link for the article. I am going to add this site to
my favorites list and consider becoming a member myself,
which is something I've never done before.
God is here...I can tell! That is exciting, isn't it? It
sure is to ME! ;-)
Bless you all for your ministry!
Susan
