Would You Lose
Your Job for the Lord?
What would you do if
your boss told you to keep Christ out of your life while
at work? Now, give this some real thought before you
glibly say you would never compromise your faith by
leaving the Lord at the doorstep when you went in to
work. Often an employee is asked not to witness to
coworkers or clients or to leave the Christian jewelry at
home, etc. No, the boss doesn't ask you to denounce your
faith, merely keep it under wraps while on the job. Very
subtle, but there it is, and before you know it you've
placed that job ahead of Jesus on your list of
priorities.
Let me introduce a man
who kept Jesus first.... William Heffner ( http://poeticlight.youthofamerica.org/ ) who is in the process of
preparing a campaign to run for County Sheriff in 2000
and continuing to trust the hand of God to direct his
path according to Proverbs 3:5-6 wrote the following:
Romans 1:16
I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ,
for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone
who
believes, for the Jew first and also the Greek.
The Christian
Cop
(My Poetic
Autobiography)
Did you ever want to be
a cop, drive a car with lights on top,
Wear a badge, wear a gun and be a help to everyone?
Well me I got to do it all and didnt even miss my
call
For everywhere that I was sent, I took the truth I
represent
Jesus Christ, Gods only Son, who shed His blood for
everyone
Drunks and druggies, killers too, liars, thieves, those
in blue
Teachers, preachers, businessmen, Kings and Queens for
all have sinned
Then one day the Chief told me, if this is where you want
to be
Keep your God away from here, for Im the one that
you should fear
I told the Chief I cant obey, cause Jesus is the
only way
The only way to peace within, the only way to conquer
sin,
The only way to save a soul, the only way that Ill
patrol!
Now he knew just where I stood, and what he asked, I
never could
Id just seen too much fruitfulness, to ever try and
second guess
The restoration or the fame, that I have known in Jesus
name
Then it came as no surprise, I was told to compromise
Separate your church and state or get prepared to
terminate
Well I refused to change my mind and told the Chief that
I resign
Easter Sunday ninety-five, Jesus Christ is still alive!!
JESUS IS THE WAY
I use to think that I would find
Salvation in a state of mind
But let me tell you, I was blind
Jesus is the way
I ran around and did my thing
Ignored all Christians witnessing,
But somehow kept remembering
Jesus was their way
Then one day, I had to choose
Truth or lie, win or lose
And now I share those Christian views
Jesus is the way
So if you're ever feeling low
Down and out, no place to go
Been there, done that, now I know
Jesus is the way
John 14:6
UNSELFISHNESS
I finally got it
figured out
It all comes down to this
The biggest foe, well ever know
Is our own selfishness
So yellow, red, black and white
I have found a way
To conquer me first attitudes
Before the judgment day
I found someone who always gives
Unselfish, pure and true
He walks by faith and not by sight
Like were suppose to do
He conquered me first attitudes
Passing every test
And said that we could do the same
Through His unselfishness
So let me introduce you to
The truth, the life, the way
Jesus Christ, Gods only Son
Lets follow Him today
Luke 9:23
And He said to them all, if any man will come after
me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross
daily, and follow Me.
