Making God Glad
By Spurgeon - Submitted by
Carol Skipper

Is it possible to make God glad? We make God glad by our love. See, loving heart, how He delights in you.

When you lean your head on His bosom, you not only receive, but you give Him joy.

When you gaze with love upon His all-glorious face, you not only obtain comfort, but impart delight.

Our praise too, gives him joy-- not the song of the lips alone, but the melody of the heart's deep gratitude.

A Love Letter from God to Woman
Submitted by Bobby Lewis

When I created the heavens and the earth, I spoke them into being. When I created man, I formed him and breathed life into his nostrils. But you, woman, I fashioned after I breathed the breath of life into man because your nostrils are too delicate. I allowed a deep sleep to come over him so I could patiently and perfectly fashion you.

Man was put to sleep so that he could not interfere with the creativity. From one bone I fashioned you. I chose the bone that protects man's life. I chose the rib, which protects his heart and lungs and supports him, as you are meant to do. Around this one bone I shaped you. I modeled you. I created you perfectly and beautifully. Your characteristics are as the rib, strong yet delicate and fragile. You provide protection for the most delicate organ in man, his heart. His heart is the center of his being; his lungs hold the breath of life. The rib cage will allow itself to be broken before it will allow damage to the heart.

Support man as the rib cage supports the body. You were not taken from his feet, to be under him, nor were you taken from his head, to be above him. You were taken from his side, to stand beside him and be held close to his side.

You are my perfect angel. You are my beautiful little girl. You have grown to be a splendid woman of excellence, and my eyes fill when I see the virtues in your heart. Your eyes - don't change them. Your lips - how lovely when they part in prayer. Your nose, so perfect in form, your hands so gentle to touch. I've caressed your face in your deepest sleep; I've held your heart close to mine.

Of all that lives and breathes, you are the most like me. Adam walked with me in the cool of the day and yet he was lonely. He could not see me or touch me. He could only feel me. So everything I wanted Adam to share and experience with me, I fashioned in you: my holiness, my strength, my purity, my love, my protection and support. You are special because you are the extension of me. Man represents my image - woman, my emotions.

Together, you represent the totality of God. So man - treat woman well. Love her, respect her, for she is fragile. In hurting her, you hurt me. What you do to her, you do to me.

In crushing her, you only damage your own heart, the heart of your Father, and the heart of her Father. Woman, support man. In humility, show him the power of emotion I have given you. In gentle quietness show your strength. In love, show him that you are the rib that protects his inner self.
Remember . . . God loves you!

What Women See

Age 8: Looks at herself and sees:
Cinderella/Sleeping Beauty.

Age 15: Looks at herself and sees:
Cinderella/Sleeping Beauty/Cheerleader, or if she is PMS'ing: sees/Pimples/UGLY ("Mom, I can't go to school looking like this!")

Age 20: Looks at herself and sees:
"too fat/too thin, too short/too tall, too straight/too curly" - but decides she's going out anyway.

Age 30: Looks at herself and sees:
"too fat/too thin, too short/too tall, too straight/too curly" - but decides she doesn't have time to fix it so she's going out anyway.

Age 40: Looks at herself and sees:
"too fat/too thin, too short/too tall, too straight/too curly" - but says, "At least, I'm clean" and goes out anyway.

Age 50: Looks at herself and sees:
"I am" - and goes wherever she wants to.

Age 60: Looks at herself and reminds herself of all the people who can't even see themselves in the mirror anymore. ...goes out and conquers the world.

Age 70: Looks at herself and sees wisdom, laughter and ability - goes out and enjoys life.

Age 80: Doesn't bother to look. Just puts on a red hat and goes out to participate in the world.

Age 90: Can't see and doesn't worry about it!

Amazing Woman
Submitted by Michelle Weibel

Women have strengths that amaze men.
They carry children, they carry hardships,
They carry burdens but they hold happiness, love and joy.
They smile when they want to scream.
They sing when they want to cry.
They cry when they are happy and laugh when they are nervous.
They fight for what they believe in.
They stand up to injustice.
They don't take "no" for an answer when they believe there is a better solution.
They go without new shoes so their children can have them.
They go to the doctor with a frightened friend.
They love unconditionally.
They cry when their children excel and cheer when their friends get awards.
They are happy when they hear about a birth or a new marriage.
Their hearts break when a friend dies.
They have sorrow at the loss of a family member, yet they are strong when they think there is no strength left.
They know that a hug and a kiss can heal a broken heart.
They reflect the heart of God.

Women come in all sizes, in all colors and shapes.
They'll drive, fly, walk, run or e-mail you to show how much they care about you.
The heart of a woman is what makes the world spin!
Women do more than just give birth.
They bring joy and hope.
They give compassion and ideals.
They give moral support to their family and friends.
Women have a lot to say and a lot to give.

"Lady in Waiting"
By Susan Cunningham
Colorado Springs, CO

Author's Note: Your outreach looks wonderful. I am sending along a piece that was written several years ago...it is about the return of our Lord. Waiting for Him is His bride.. His church. The symbolic love between a husband and wife yet to be shared.

In the soft stillness of evening she searches the heavens, and He waits.. with quickened breath, seeing her tears, He must touch her

The flesh has grown into maturity.. her form, ripe and warm she is beautiful in the glow of His Spirit

God listens to her heart beating, the very essence of His soul, moving and stirring within

Ages have passed as time brings to rest upon her ear, the echoes of His love and heard in a dream the sound of His trumpet.. a vision.. crown of glory seen on fair steed

So softly He calls to her this Knight of Sunrise, so wild in His love He comes in intimate favor

Sacred moments, longing strains of what is true and claimed by blood, aching caress shared by One

Tender and gentle words unspoken, lovers unbroken.. eternal

So blessed with His presence, is she, the chosen

His life, His lady.. in waiting.
