Just a Thought...
By Staff Writer Sharon BarrettAs we read the Bible each
day, it is not as important to remember word for
word, but to remember the contents of the Bible.
The History, the Miracles, God, His Son, and the
Holy Spirit. If we get caught up on each little
detail or word in the Bible then we may lose out
on what God wanted us to learn. It is a blessing
to quote Scripture, it is a blessing to read the
word each day.
A little girl got up in front of her class when
the teacher asked about miracles, the little girl
told about the Red Sea and the Israelites. She
did not give a word for word out of the Bible
story, but what a blessing she was to her class.
Won't you share the Bible with others even if you
can't quote it word for word.

Dear Blabby
Dear Blabby;
I am very overweight - almost 400 pounds. I've had a life
long struggle with this, even having my stomach stapled
and undergone years of therapy, but nothing has seemed to
help. I've endured the mean and petty attitudes of the
unsaved, but what hurts even more are the comments of
other believers. They accuse me of gluttony. They say I
cannot care much for Christ because I care so little for
myself.
Tearful in Toronto
Dear Tearful;
Surely these folks must be perfect in every way,
completely without sin or flaw, else how could they be
qualified to cast stones at you! Honey, get a copy of Patsy Clairmont's "God Uses
Cracked Pots." And while you read it remember this, God
uses little pots, too, and big ones, and bent ones...
Then go out and find some other tearful pots (er, folks)
and bring them a smile, a bit of Jesus' love. And always
remember, God made you and He loves you.. every ounce.

Dear Blabby;
My husband and I are both surgeons and have opted to
remain childless. While we are quite satisfied with our
choice, our parents, some other family members and
friends continually remind us we are breaking God's
command to multiply. Please give us your thoughts.
A Family of Two
Dear Family;
I would think that the earth has been adequately filled
by all those who have already multiplied and God is
probably not overly concerned about your lack of
contribution to these numbers. What your folks are really
saying is they want grandchildren. Let your brothers and
sisters (if there are any) fill that need, and tell all
these well meaning meddlers you'd make lousy parents...
then go on about your lives as you wish. If you and God
are happy, that's what really matters here.

Dear Blabby;
I bought a lottery ticket last month and won $50,000.
Trouble is, people at church feel any form of gambling is
sin even though they have Bingo night once a month. How
do I explain all this money and not lie about it?
Winner from Wisconsin
Dear Winner;
Without getting into the "is gambling a sin"
controversy, my first question is why you need to explain
the money to anyone? Pay your tithing, talk over the
gambling issue with the Lord and keep your financial
condition to yourself. My next question is what does the
church Bingo night have to do with your lottery ticket?
If you believe buying a lottery ticket is wrong (which I
read between the lines of your letter) would it be any
less wrong if the church ran a full scale casino?
Sweetie, you need to settle the issue between you,
scripture and the Lord... and leave the church Bingo
bashes out of the equation altogether.

Our Readers
Write...
First, I would like to
say, I love your site. It has a great look and feel to
it. I spend about eight hours a day on the Internet, and
have seen a lot of sites...I certainly think yours is
well done.
Secondly, I have a question. I was wondering if you would
be interested in including a Christian Children Story
section? There are some really great sites that parents
can go to and read their child a story, but very few of
them are Christian. In fact, there is only one site I
know of that has a Christian bedtime story area. Anyway,
it is just a question. If you consider it, please let me
know and I will send you a couple of my children's
stories for your review.
Thank you, and may God bless you.

to discuss her idea further.)

Hi Iona,
How are you....lovely to hear from you again, and thanks
so much that you are using another poem....I took a look
at it, and a little more of your website and was very
impressed. You are doing an excellent job (thanks for
displaying my work so nicely). I have also put a link to
your website on mine. I truly wish I had more time to
check out everything you have to offer but I am so busy
updating my website, and "polishing" things on
it to make it shine....still, we labor not in vain, when
we work for the Lord....and I am so blessed by Him in
this unique ministry, and in meeting such wonderful
Christian ladies such as yourself.
God bless you dear Sister,
Talk with you later,

(Re
"Make My Day")
Dear Iona,
I just got done reading this. Thanks so much for sending
it out to us. I really enjoyed it, or should I say, it
ministered to me. I had that horrible flu for almost two
months and still am not totally over it. I did the same
thing, for part of the time. I thought, "well, until
I am back to my old self, have to make the best of
it!"
Thanks! LInda

Praise God Our Father in Jesus Name and in Jesus. The
Spirit that amazed your friends is a blessing from the
Lord God Almighty and I pray for myself and others to
continually be grown in the Spirit of Our Father in Jesus
and He in us and we in Him. In the Blessed Name of Jesus
I ask Father and give thanks to only You.
