Just a Thought...
By Staff Writer Sharon BarrettSpring is coming! Or is
it? The signs are there, snow is melting, ice has
fallen from the houses, streets have puddles and
bare spots on them instead of snow. With spring
comes the flowers, a new beginning for life. Time
to shed off the old and put on the new. God is so
wonderful to do the same for us. If things are
not right with the Lord and it's winter all the
time, we can make things right and turn it into
spring.

SMITHSONIAN WITHOUT
WALLS: REVEALING THINGS
All too
often museums call attention to lofty works of art, in
the process neglecting the simple things that surround
us, equally capable of inspiring and invoking beauty.
This online exhibit by the Smithsonian--the first created
specifically for the Web--calls attention to such items.
The exhibit showcases ordinary items donated by ordinary
folks that transcend their pedantic origins and evoke
high art. Peruse exhibits featuring patched bellbottoms,
wooden hand puppets, an ironing board, and more on this
incredibly well designed enclave.
MUSEUM OF CONTEMPORARY ART, SAN
DIEGO
We usually chide sites that use flashy
technology just for the sake of using a flashy
technology. We grant exemptions to most museum sites,
since people visit them intending to spend some time and
want a rich visual aesthetic to accompany them. This
museum site, however, employs a remarkably subtle design
in presenting its works and available programs. Take a
VRML tour, send a postcard, learn about the museum's
history and the history of the artists therein.
Jill Lemming's
Thoughts on Colors
Living Colors
By Jill Lemming
It takes a blend of
colors
for a rainbow to emerge...
each color has a function,
yet alone becomes obscure.
When joined with one another,
just see what God can do...
He forms a bold creation,
spectacular in view.
Like the colors in the rainbow,
God's children shine so bright...
each making an impression,
unique in their own right.
But nothing shines as brilliant,
or displays God's steadfast love...
as the joining of our "colors"
to fulfill God's plan above.
God formed us in His image,
and gave us each a name...
displaying our own "colors"
and no two are quite the same.
So when we come together,
every shade and precious hue...
becomes a whole creation;
like the rainbow, pure and true.
Living Color My
World
By Jill Lemming
Sometimes we find
shades of gray
when grief comes to our lives...
and other times we see the sun
shine golden in our eyes.
It all depends on how we view
the world that God has made...
it takes some effort on our part,
to lose those "shades of gray."
Lord, give me eyes to see my world
in lovely shades of GREEN...
reflecting growth within my heart
and blessings unforeseen.
Let me see the color RED
to remind me of Your blood...
and how You died to set me free,
a sacrifice of love.
And when I see the color WHITE,
let me see Your righteousness...
the truest symbol of Your grace
and the purest color yet.
Lord, color my world and let me see
each symbol You have made...
all reflections of Your love,
each one a perfect shade.
I behold her in my
minds eye as reality rushes by. Bright eyes
alight my gaze with such fire: wide and alive with
vitality. Her face is soft with a smooth nose and
lightly pursed lips. She stands there, almost
nervously, a rare licking of her lips; with a little
shifting of her legs. Oh; the soft curvaceous legs
held so poised by her lean gorgeous body. Her torso
is smooth, the flesh supple and so alive. I wish so
much I could stroke her, so delicate and smooth,
running fingers like a ghost over her long neck....
If there was but some way not to disturb the
moment.... Some way to get close to what I am not
worthy of beholding.... And then she is gone into the
rush of reality, the crowd of so much life around
her....
I will never forget the moment a doe in the woods
taught me of the beauty of Gods creations.

Feelings
By Evangeline Gaskins
I am nervous
I am stressed
Today I am not at my best
But for a mere second, I felt a chill
All I go thru and what's not my best is Gods will
So evidently my : NOT BEST , is also BLESSED
And there went my nervousness
And there went my stress
SO TODAY I AM AT MY BEST
Painted Promises
By Rebecca Chamaa
Painted Promises
Yesterday I saw a rainbow
painted in the sky,
the brush stroke of the Master.
A promise
colored in
red, yellow, blue.
I wept not at the beauty
but at the sign,
the significance
of the Word,
the covenant,
the signature of God.
