2 Thessalonians 2:15 "So then, brothers, stand firm and hold to the teachings we passed on to you, whether by word of mouth or by letter."

We are encouraged to stand firm, standing firm means not to waver back and forth or from here to there. What are we to stand firm about? What we are being taught either by word of mouth, or by letter, and in today's lifestyle that can also mean emails, or what we read on the internet. But what are the teachings we are to stand firm to? They are the WORD OF GOD. All the marvelous things the Scriptures teach us.

A Diabetic’s Prayer

I need to calm my spirit;
My heart is racing fast;
There is no need to worry;
On Him my cares I cast.

He calls me as His own;
Heart, mind and body be;
Upon His strength to call;
Tossing troubles to the sea.

I am having problems;
My life needs to change;
I’ve been overly indulgent;
Its effects on me to blame.

Many calories, sugars and sweets;
Always beckoning to entreat;
By His grace I shall not fall;
I know from whence those voices call.

Here am I ready to call,
On Christ my Savior,my all in all.
Always blessed by His strength;
Persevering through days length.

Give me the Word
That only brings life;
Away with the sweets;
Which only bring strife.

Never again,
With help from above,
Will I run to the negative,
When I am bound with His love.

Thankful and grateful,
Words that are now used;
Part of a vocabulary,
Which used to be “Sugar Blues”.

My life is not my own;
Some day I’ll see His throne;
'Til those gates are opened wide,
The battle still rages on inside.

Too late is it to change?
No, never, by His grace;
A longsuffering Savior,
Will help us keep our pace.

All praise goes to Heaven above,
For His blessings, watch care and love;
Abundant gifts from His hand,
Spreads Good News To other lands.

Let me live from this day forth,
A life pleasing to My God;
In gratitude for what He's done;
With my heart and voice I laud.
