Jason
The Good Samaritan
I painted this work as an appreciation gift for Jason
Stiles, branch manager of American General Finance, Las Vegas,
Nevada, who went above and beyond all expectations to help us
receive and cash a large out of state check when we were
traveling to his city. Jason loves people and it shows, not only
in his winning smile and gentle eyes, but in the way he talks
and treats each person as if they were the only focus of his
life at that moment. He gives you his complete and caring
attention. |

A Mothers Love
By Sylvia L. Green-Chatman
Nothing exists quite like a
mother’s love;
It is one of God’s gifts from up above.
It begins with news of her pregnant state;
She feels fortunate to have such good fate.
With the seed in the shelter of her womb,
A special kind of bond begins to bloom.
From month to month, week to week, day to day,
A warmth builds in her heart and is to stay.
The swell of her midriff is source of pride;
She wants the world to know life is inside.
The gentle kicks against her abdomen
Are always followed by a cheerful grin.
She rubs her stomach with affection;
Each day, stronger grows the connection.
She tenderly nurtures her budding flower,
Right up until that last and final hour.
Whether or not her baby is a boy or girl,
Her fondness grows when it enters the world.
When she gazes into his or her eyes,
Music to her ears are those first loud cries.
Before her face, she only sees beauty;
She eagerly accepts her new duty.
As she cradles her newborn in her arms,
She promises to keep it from all harm.
As she holds her infant to her breast,
She vows to only give it her best.
Nothing can compare to a mother’s love;
Truly, it’s a blessing from up above.

Eve
By Louise Worley
At the sound of Your
voice…
Light divided the darkness
Seas churned and dry land appeared
The earth brought forth its vegetation
Your essence filled the firmament
In the expanse of the heavens…
You placed the sun and moon to rule
Your glory filled the midnight sky
Seasons, days and years were marked
Symbols of Your wisdom and care
At Your calling…
Creatures swarmed the waters
Living beasts walked the earth
Birds flew high in the heavens
Fitting and pleasant was Your work
You decreed …
Let Us make man in Our likeness
From the dust of the ground he was created
Breathing the spirit of life into his nostrils
You called out to him…Adam
Knowing it was not good for man to be alone…
You created for him a suitable companion
Forming her from the bone of his frame
You called out once again
And he named her…Eve
