Poetry
from YOU!
Encouragement
by Anastasia FloydBe strong
in the Lord,
Be of good courage.
Do not allow the enemy,
To make you discouraged.
Hold to his unchanging hand,
And he will bless you to inherit the land.
Calm your fears,
And praise God with cheers.
He will never leave you,
Nor forsake you.
Even though the world,
might hate you.
Hold on to him for he is strong,
And your trials won't last for long.

The
Beauty of a Woman
Submitted
by Taunya HoeppnerIs not in the clothes she wears,
The figure that she carries,
Or the way she combs her hair.
The beauty of a woman
must be seen from in her eyes,
Because that is the doorway to her heart,
the place where love resides.
The beauty of a woman
is not in a facial mole,
But true beauty in a woman
Is reflected in her soul.
It is the caring that she lovingly gives,
The passion that she shows,
And the beauty of a woman
With passing years-only grows!

The Meaning of Rescue
Submitted
by Viola Gilbert
Now that I'm home,
bathed, settled and fed,
All nicely tucked in my warm new bed.
I'd like to open my baggage
Lest I forget,
There is so much to carry -
So much to regret.
Hmm . . . Yes, there it is, right on the top
Let's unpack Loneliness, Heartache and Loss,
And there by my leash hides Fear and Shame.
As I look on these things I tried so hard to leave -
I still have to unpack my baggage called Pain.
I loved them, the others, the ones who left me,
But I wasn't good enough - for they didn't want me.
Will you add to my baggage?
Will you help me unpack?
Or will you just look at my things -
And take me right back?
Do you have the time to help me unpack?
To put away my baggage,
To never repack?
I pray that you do - I'm so tired you see,
But I do come with baggage -
Will you still want me?
Psalm 23 for the
Cyber-age
by Dereinke
The Lord is my
programmer, I shall not crash.
He installed his software on the hard disk of my
heart;
All of His commands are user-friendly.
His directory guides me to the right choices for His
name's sake.
Even though I scroll through the problems of life, I
will fear no bugs, for He is my backup. His password
protects me.
He prepares a menu before me in the presence of my
enemies.
His help is only a keystroke away.
Surely goodness and mercy will follow me all the days
of my life, and my file will be merged with His and
saved forever.
Amen.
